Whether you’re an army of one or many, we want you to be a part of the fun too! Volunteers 13 years old and over are welcome, and you’ll receive a commemorative t-shirt, food and beverage, and a bunch of thanks from our staff and our participants! We need your help Friday at pre-race packet pick up at Road Runner Sports, Saturday on the course (task areas include obstacles, chip timing, water stations, parking, bag check-in, etc.) and Saturday afternoon cleanup on the course.

ABOUT VOLUNTEER SHIFTS

  • Packet Pickup: You’ll be the first face-to-face interaction participants will experience, so smiling faces are important! Volunteers will be checking in participants on iPads, distributing wristbands, answering questions and handing out t-shirts. Typical shift is 6 hours.
  • Event Day: Volunteers will be helping with of variety of tasks including, but not limited to: check-in, T-shirt distribution, bag check, water stations, working at obstacles, and motivating runners through the course. Typical shift is between 5-6 hours.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Volunteers must be 13 years of age or older
  • Must stay for the entire shift
  • Adults must compete the ROC Waiver HERE
  • Minors must print, complete and return the Minor Waiver HERE
  • A positive attitude and smiling face

AFTER SIGNING UP

  • You will automatically receive a confirmation, and you will receive a detailed email 2-3 weeks before the event with more information.
  • If you are no longer available for the shift you signed up for or need to switch, please email us as soon as possible.
  • The more the merrier! Invite your friends to volunteer as well!

 

GROUPS

WHAT IS CONSIDERED A VOLUNTEER GROUP?
A volunteer group consists of a group of 20 or more volunteers from a single organization. Examples include community organizations, non-profit groups, fraternities/sororities, high school students, and businesses.

HOW DO I SIGN UP MY GROUP?
Please email info@delmarmudrun.com to express interest. Please provide the following information within your email:

  • Group Leader’s first and last name
  • Group Leader’s contact information (phone number & email address)
  • Group you are affiliated with
  • How many volunteers you expect to bring
  • You will then be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator within 48 hours to share the next steps, answer questions, and provide any support materials you need.

ARE DONATIONS GIVEN TO VOLUNTEER GROUPS?
Yes, as a thank you for your group’s time and hard work, donations will be given to non-profit organizations that provide a minimum of 20 volunteers. The donation amount is based on the number of volunteers that sign up and show up for assigned shifts. Email us at info@delmarmudrun.com for more information.

GROUP LEADER INFORMATION

  1. The group leader should be the first to register through Active and create the group name. Any individuals registering with your group will need to select this group name when they sign up.
  2. Direct individual members of your group to register and select your group name. If your group plans to volunteer during the same shift, please share the specific shift information with your members.
  3. If you have any members that are unable to register on-line, collect their information on the GROUP ROSTER and email the final roster to the volunteer coordinator at info@delmarmudrun.com by March 15thth.
  4. Adult volunteers (18+ years of age) registering on-line will complete the required electronic waiver during their registration process. Adult volunteers signed up on a group roster will need to complete the Volunteer Waiver HERE
  5. Minors (13-17 years of age) will need to download, complete and bring the MINOR WAIVER with them to volunteer check-in when they report for their shift. All minors must have a completed, signed waiver or they will not be allowed to participate.
  6. The group leader will need to forward informational emails to any members that sign up on a group roster. Individuals registered to volunteer through Active will receive email updates directly from us.
